Gus came and measured. He offered advice on the color but I took a long time to make up my mind. I finally went with his suggestion, which was a dark gray granite that looks good with stainless steel appliances. I would trust his advice again. I decided to purchase a sink that Granite Works stocks, as well as their standard gooseneck faucet. The day of the installation, I was scheduled for the morning. I received a call telling me that the installers made a mistake and went to another job first. They apologized profusely. The 2 installers arrived and they called for their plumber, who arrived in a timely manner, however, there was no faucet, so the plumber had to obtain it, presumably going back to the office on Taft St.. The team worked quickly, taking out the old countertops and installing the new. Only one goof--probably my fault. The sink plug really "belongs" to the disposer, not the old sink, and somehow that got taken away with the debris.
I got a nice thank you call from Bruno (I think), thanking me for the business.

Thank you for a job well done. On July 12, Bruno (who had come to our house earlier) along with his brother Gus, came to our house and put in the lovely granite countertop. Great job! Taking out the old "butcher block" top, new granite, replace garbage disposal, total clean up. I will continue to recommend Granite Works. Too bad you're not going to be moving to Phoenix so we could use your company in the future. Again, thank you!
