Regular Cleaning

While granite can withstand spills, the stains left behind can be very difficult to remove if you let them settle on the surface for a long time. Splash a small amount of water on the surface; if it clumps into small beads, it’s still good. However, if the water doesn’t bead, your countertop will need resealing as the granite is slightly absorbing the water.

Finally, it’s important to inspect the entire countertop to make sure that it’s not shifting or cracking in place. If you see obvious signs of structural damage, it may be necessary to replace the granite countertop.
